Harry's Bromeliad

Harry Soetanto or well known as Harry’s Bromel is a florist, a decorative plant farmer who resides in Lebak Bulus area, South of Jakarta. Started from orchids in 1974, Harry’s developed his business by increasing other varieties of decorative plants. In 1989 Harry’s imported bromeliad which was soon became top level of decorative plant at his nursery until present. This variety of bromeliad was imported form Netherlands and other foreign country.

About Bromelia

Bromelia is a beautiful decorative plant. Bromelia have striking bright colours of its leaf as well as its flower. The various shape of its leaf and bright flower make bromelia suitable to be place in a group, build a certain formation which lead to a perfect usage as a point of interest in a garden or landscape.

One variety of bromelia plant which we have already familiar with is Ananas comosus or nanas. Besides as decorative plants, Indonesia has few numbers of other varieties which usually have flower with orange colour.
Bromelia is a decorative plant with a simple maintenance; endure to be plant out at a low land and the watering depends with the humidity of its pot substances. Bromelia needs an open air with a net protection or shelter (paranet), the pot substance is a coco peat, few amount of cut up fern (pakis) and “slow release” fertilizer to reduce the frequency of fertilizing process.
